OpenVMS Forum

three years ago, VMS Software Inc. (VSI) announced their licensing agreement with Hewlett-Packard that allowed them to exclusively develop OpenVMS further. A lot has happened since then: three versions of OpenVMS for the HPE Integrity platform have been released, and most recently version V8.4-2L2 "Performance Release" for the Alpha platform has been shipped. At the same time, a lot of work has been done for porting OpenVMS to the x86_64 architecture. Another highlight is the availability of Java 8 for OpenVMS.

At the Connect IT Symposium 2017 in Hannover, Germany, Camiel Vanderhoeven (VSI) provided insight into current engineering activities at VSI. The Connect OpenVMS Boot Camp will take place in late September in Westford, MA (USA), and only two weeks later the Connect OpenVMS Forum 2017 will present latest information in Europe.
